MY INSTRUMENTS

I have a flexible point of view about construction criteria. I personally prefer to work with Stradivari or Guarneri models, as regards to violas, I prefer the largest size. In spite of that, I think the maker is the first step of the making process: all the instruments have been born to be played, and their player is in charge of keeping alive. In my opinion, ideal instruments are those which can be considered as a result of a comunicative agreement between the maker and performer.

I think that the pattern, sizes, appearence and adjustment of an instrument should be done according to the player preferences, sensitivity, and also to his phisical characteristics. So I like to know in a trance who the owner will be, his way of being and thoughts.

I like making instruments of new aspect, but I also enjoy copying the classical ones by reproducing their ancient aspect, in modern or barroc set-up.

I follow Stradivari constructive method and I use always my own varnishes based on classical lutheria formulas, and the highest quality woods.
